S-AEC

Optimize Outside the Bucky

Samsung Smart Automatic Exposure Chamber (S-AEC) automatically analyzes patient anatomy and calculates an optimized exposure for each examination—helping deliver more consistent image quality while simplifying imaging workflows outside the bucky and without AEC chambers for the GM85 mobile and GC85A Vision+ Ceiling systems.

  • No external AEC receptor to carry

  • No chamber to align

  • No dependence on a separate wireless AEC device

Get The Highlights

Exceptional image clarity and precision for confident diagnoses, even in the most challenging exams.

Imaging outside the bucky introduces variables.

Your image quality shouldn’t have to reflect them.

Bedside or tabletop imaging rarely happens under ideal conditions. Patient size, positioning, SID, equipment placement and operator technique can introduce variability from one examination to the next. Traditional AEC helps manage exposure in the X-ray room—but conventional systems depend on hardware integrated into the table or wall stand. That has historically made AEC difficult to bring to mobile imaging.

No additional AEC hardware. No chamber alignment.

All detector areas can act as AEC receptors, additional hardware isn't required, chamber alignment isn't necessary, and the scout-based approach supports stable operation in wireless environments.

S-AEC with Anatomy Clipping Check

Improve image quality while reducing dose exposure.

S-AEC brings Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) to tabletop and portable X-ray through a detector-embedded solution designed to optimize patient-specific dose and image quality directly at the bedside. Expanding upon this technology, Anatomy Clipping Check helps proactively identify clipped anatomy before the final exposure to reduce retakes, unnecessary radiation exposure, patient disruption, and improve workflow.

Control Radiation Amount for Individual Patient Sizes

S-AEC helps deliver more personalized radiation control by automatically analyzing the patient’s anatomy and adjusting exposure to the individual patient’s size rather than relying on a fixed technique. By using scout data to identify the anatomical region of interest and calculate the appropriate exposure, S-AEC can help reduce unnecessary radiation while maintaining consistent image quality across a range of patient body sizes.

Less Dose Deviation for Consistent Image Quality

S-AEC helps reduce exposure variation by automatically calculating the appropriate radiation level for each patient, rather than relying solely on manually selected techniques. By keeping Exposure Index (EI) values more tightly concentrated around the target range, S-AEC supports more consistent image quality from exam to exam, helping minimize technical variability and giving radiologists greater confidence when comparing current and prior images.
